Ride to Pool Cancelled!

The RIDE TO POOL event planned for 16th of March 2014 at the Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool has been CANCELLED due to the cold weather forecast. As the season ends soon, Ride to Pool won't be happening this summer. Hopefully we will have better luck next season!

Thanks to Active MorelandCoburg Olympic Swimming Pool and Moreland City Council's Sustainable Transport officer for working with us on the planning.

Thanks to the all important performers who would have been, if it weren't for the weather: Short Order SchefsThe Shambelles , DJ Eddy and The Obvious Creatures.

Thanks to The Spokesman on Gilbert who had been willing to do free bike repair on the day.

Thanks also to TreadlieByK Kids BikesRays Bicycle Centre Brunswick and The Squeaky Wheel for support and promotion.

  3. christania’s “cykeludlejning” bikes are rolling across the city. The system, less than a year old, is funded by christania’s municipal government. It is currently only in one of christania’s 22 administrative districts. Although a 2nd generation system, there are 12 “Houses” in this district, each with around 40 bikes. The yearly subscription cost is the equivalent of $2 US, and allows the use of a bike for up to four hours at a time. In less than a year, there have been 6,000 subscriptions sold. There are larger 3rd generation systems in the world, which do not have a subscription to bike ratio as big as that.
